r ESC15, David continued to pursue his formal education. He received his M.A. in Secondary Education from East Texas State University in 1974. He received his Mid-Management Administrative Certification from Angelo State University and his Superintendent's Certification from Texas Tech University. David married Marylyn Goetz Tonne on October 23, 1987 and had over 30 wonderful loving years filled with accomplishments and shared experiences. Very few summers passed that you would not find David and Marylyn either in Lake City, Colorado or Ruidoso, New Mexico, or both. They enjoyed participating in family activities, The Rock Box Theater in Fredericksburg, Texas, fishing in Colorado and the banks of the Concho River, always with a cold Miller Lite in his right hand. Preceding his death, were his parents and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Laurene Goetz. Mourning his passing is his loving, devoted wife Marylyn, son Todd (Misty) Smith; grandson Jayden Smith; Step-Son, Paul (Allison) Tonne; Step-Daughter, Melissa Durst; grandchildren, Brad Tonne, Lauren Tonne, Chris, Anthony and Kandice Durst; Brother, Roy (Diane) Smith, Brother-in-laws Tim (DaLana) Goetz, Kerry (Gail) Goetz, Art (Gerri) Goetz, and Danny Goetz. The family will accept family and friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Harper Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at Harper Funeral Home Chapel 11 AM, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 with Reverend Allen Eckert officiating.
