ncil and was 40 year volunteer with the Rockwell Fire Department. He was a member of the Lions Club, President of the RITA telephone association, and served on the Rockwell City Council. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going to their sporting events. His fun activities included golf, camping, fishing in Canada, going to telephone conventions and wintering in South Padre Island, TX with his wife Donna "Hansen" of 58 years. They were united in marriage on July 23, 1960 St. Peter Lutheran Church.
Those surviving include his wife Donna, three daughters Jodi, and her husband John Degen, Jeanette and her husband Gary Sturges all of Rockwell, and Dawn and her husband Joseph Heimer of Ankeny. There are nine grandchildren, Angela Brady, T.J. Degen, and Natalie Cook and her husband Jordan; Margo (Tanner), and Macy Sturges, Christian, Benjamin, Alex, and Lauren Heimer, two step-granddaughters Anna Tarbet, and Stephanie Hunt; six great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Jayden, Dexter, and Elliott Brady, and Patrick and Moxley Cook; six grand puppies that loved David, Libby, Bo, Louis, Cali, Jordy and Maddie. He also has his brother Donnie (Sharon) Kruckenberg, Rockwell; step-sister Lois (Wayne) Borcherding of Latimer.
Preceding him in death are his parents, infant daughter Jean Ann Kruckenberg and two brothers Willis and Melvin Kruckenberg.
