Matthew Evans, Jr died peacefully on September 25, 2018 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Matt was born June 4, 1949 at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where he later worked as a Registered Nurse in both the Trauma and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Matt was a caring nurse and thoughtful friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Evans and his mother, Mattie Marie England Learst. Matt is survived by his close friends, Kelly Rhynold and her children, Konnor and Emily; and Donald Foltz (Scott Beggs) and his children, Jeffrey and Jennifer; a sister, Jane and many friends here in South Florida and across the United States.
Matt lived in NY and Florida and traveled extensively across the world and made friends easily. He touched patients' and family's lives in ways large and small in each and every unit he worked. Before working as an RN, Matt was a Respiratory Therapist and arranged for a young paralyzed patient to come to his home for his annual Christmas party. He was a valued colleague and dear friend and will be missed for his kindness and generosity.

Matt will be cremated and Celebration of Life will be at Fred Hunter's in Davie, Florida on Sunday, September 30th, from 5pm-7pm.
