Dorothy Evelyn Williams, age 93, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and formerly of Sunrise and Miami, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Sherol's Home Care under Trustbridge Hospice. She was born February 22, 1925 in Flushing, NY to Oscar Emanuel and Florence Evelyn (Peterson) Olson. She and her husband Dennis operated several restaurants in Atlantic City, NJ. She moved to South Florida in 1994 from New Jersey and worked as a bookkeeper/accountant in the hotel industry. She retired at 77 years of age after working for 15 years for Kemper National Services.
She is survived by her best friend, Ruth Edna Tier. She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis A. Williams and young daughter Barbara and her parents.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, from 10:30am to 11:30am, with a church service at 11:30am, followed by a reception in the church hall, First United Church of Christ, 200 N. 46th Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33021. Entombment will be held on Saturday at 2:00pm in Hollywood Memorial Gardens East, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024.[more]
