Babe Casey

Jillene "Babe" Casey, age 63, died Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at the Capital Regional Hospital in Jefferson City, MO, from a short difficult battle of ovarian cancer. Babe was born August 29, 1943, the daughter of Vilas and Ruth (Salen) Morris in Blockton, Iowa. She graduated from Bedford High School and the American Beauty School in Des Moines, Iowa. Babe married Larry Casey on May 7, 1966 in Lenox, Iowa. She owned Babe's Beauty Salon at her home for thirty-three years and was in the business for forty. Babe also worked at the Green Circle for four years and washed football uniforms. She was a member of Quarter Horse Association and the Appaloosa Horse Association. Babe is survived by her husband, Larry; two children, Larry Jr. (Alison) Casey of Altoona, Iowa, Kim (David) Thamke of Urbandale, Iowa; four grandchildren, Jack, Julia, Amanda and Peyton; two siblings, Sid (Alvira) Morris of Cedar Falls, Iowa and JoAnne (Gary) Scroggie of Bedford, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four siblings, John Dee Morris, Jack Morris, Jim Morris and Judy Cox.
