Cecil Carlson

Cecil Carlson, age 91 of Centerville died Tuesday evening, March 6, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville. Cecil was born December 31, 1915 the son of Axel and Agnes (Samuelson) Carlson in McLean, NE. He married Ruby Bruse June 23, 1942 in Omaha, NE. She preceded him in death. Cecil was in the US Army Air Corp. and served in WWII. He attended college at the University of Nebraska and the University of Oklahoma where he received his Masters in Library Science and Masters of Education and later taught Psychology and Sociology for Indian Hills Community College. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Cecil is survived by two daughters; Ruth (Joseph) Lacz of Lenexa, KS and Roxanne (Robert) Ditta of Berkeley, IL, one son; Bruse Carlson of Seymour, IA, two brothers; Lester Carlson of Minneapolis, MN and William Carlson of Otto, NC, and four grandchildren. Cecil was preceded in death by one sister; Verlyn Carlson and one grandchild. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, March 9, 2007 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Centerville with Pastor Kathy Franzeberg officiating.
