Funeral services for Mr. Herman Alex Clark, Jr. age 71, of Lafayette and formerly of Cookeville will be conducted 10 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2018 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Bro. Jack Honeycutt and Bro. Hilliard Duke will officiate. Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Thursday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home. Mr. Clark was born on August 15th, 1947 in Pickett County to the late Herman Clark Sr. and Margie Inez Todd Clark. After a wonder life, on October 9th, Herman passed into his enternal home with Jesus, with his loving wife Alma Coons Sliger Clark of Lafayette, by his side. Herman and Alma were blessed to have found each other later in life, after both losing a spouse, and were very happily married for over 8 years. She was an answer to his prayer and source of joy in his life. Together, they were active in their local church, and enjoyed spending time with each other and with their family. a committed husband, father, and grandfather. Herman Clark was preceded in death by his 1st wife Katherine Jean Anderson Clark. They were married 33 years and raised 4 children together. They were parted only by her death. Herman was very proud of his large blended family. They include, Daughters Karen Crews (Jason), Kristen Love-Roach (Don), Kelli Raper (Stephen), son, Kevin Clark (Missy) of Cookeville. Sons, Andy Sliger (Shelly) of Lafayette, Terry Sliger, of Patoka, IL, daughter Darla Goad, (Johnny) of Greenbriar, Grandchildren include, Briana Gaitan, Joseph Rattanavong, Jordan Rattanavong, Benjamin Rattanavong, Emily Rattanavong, James Crews, Caraline Crews, Shandon Roberts, Alexandra Jordan, Alyssa Love, Jesse Clemmons, Jade Clark, Jackson Clark, Maxwell Clark, Courtney Porter, Brittney Sliger, MaryBeth Winters, and Amy Jones; Great grandchildren, Xander Gaitan, Julian Gaitan, Chloe Gaitan, Uriah Rattanavong, David Williamson Jr., Bryson Porter, Lilly Winters and Leland Sliger. Herman loved the Lord and his faith was not shaken through his long illness. He would leave you with these words. " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4: 7
