Dolores Patricia (Brooks) Arata, of Hollywood, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 11, 2018. She was 88 years young.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 7, 1930, daughter of Edward and Marie (Dunn) Brooks.
In 1958, she and her family moved to South Florida where she has lived ever since. Dolores was a very caring person, a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a firm believer of living life to its fullest, loved to play bingo and would often find her calling Bingo. Nothing would keep her down and was driving her own car up until a month ago.
Survived by two daughters, Debi Buriff, Linda Arata, son-in-law, Brent Buriff, five grandchildren, Frank, Jr., Ashlee, Michelle, Jeff and Tricia. She was preceded in death by her son, Frank Arata, Sr., grandson, Shane George Buriff and the love of her life, Joe Kresse.
Visitation on Friday, October 19th from 4:00 ~ 6:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Hollywood Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. A Celebration of Dolores' Life will begin at 5:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum.
