Mary Margaret Thomas
Mary Margaret Thomas, age 75, of Centerville went to take her place among the angels in Heaven on April 17, 2008. She was a member of the Solid Rock Church of God. Mary was born December 12, 1932 in Rathbun, Iowa to William Henry and Nellie (Phelps) Salasberry. Mary spent most of her life in the Centerville area working at McGraw Edison, Joe Beaners and the Bluebird Café. She was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking, crocheting, fishing and spending time with her family. Mary is survived by two daughters Debbie (Bruce) Simmons of Brazil, Iowa and Elizabeth Thomas of Tampa, FL, two sons, Donald Thomas of Des Moines, Iowa and Dwight (Rebekah) Thomas of Rathbun, Iowa, six grandchildren, Jennifer, Carrie and Sharon Simmons all of Brazil, Iowa, Michael Salton of Savannah, Illinois, Michelle Adams of Mystic, Iowa and Dani Thomas of Tampa, Florida, three brothers, Lawrence (Linda) Salasberry of Des Moines, Iowa, Gene Salasberry of Des Moines, Iowa and Albert (Doris) Salasberry of Mesa, Arizona, two sisters Velma (Bud) Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa and Patricia (Doug) Gibford of Blue Eye, Missouri, many nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Norma (Phelps) McMahon o...[more]View Full Online Obituary and Tributes
Centerville. She was preceded in death by her parents three sons, Mike, Richard and Ronnie Thomas, three brothers Junior, Richard and Elmer Salasberry and one sister Betty Salasberry Truby. Mary was a very special women who touched many lives and will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Kristopher Wattelet officiating.. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. Sunday, April 20 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home and run until 8:00 P.M. with the family present.
