How Did We Do?

Jody Elaine Patterson (60) was born November 21st 1957 in Seattle, and passed away October 19th, 2018, following a two-year battle with cancer. She was the oldest of Tom and Diane Hutchinson's two children.
She grew up and attended school in Alderwood Manor and graduated from Lynnwood High School in 1976. As a child she attended Church of the Good Shepherd in Lynnwood. She sang in the school choir and competed on the High School Swim Team. She was in DECA and the Clown Brigade. Later as an adult, she attended Northlake Christian Church in Bothell.
Jody's first job was at Big Scoop at the Mountlake Terrace Pavilion. She worked for many years at (Premera) Blue Cross (Mountlake Terrace), other Health Insurance agencies, a cat clinic and a Maltby nursery. She loved animals and flowers.
She was a talented artist, expressing herself in clay, pen-and-ink, watercolor, and in the crafting of jewelry. She was musical as well, playing the guitar.
Jody's children were her treasures. Her first child, Bethany, who died of SIDS, lived only 30 days. Jody was dedicated to supporting her son, Benjamin, in his pursuit of music and her youngest daughter, Bekah in her pursuit of art and love of cats, and both of their sports teams.
In December of 2017, Jody married her long-time partner, Connie Wilson, after nearly 20 years together.
She is survived by wife Connie (Bothell), son Benjamin (Seattle), daughter Bekah (Everett), brother Jeff and wife Debbie (Bothell), many nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Bethany, and her half-sister, Jean.
Memorial Services Saturday, December 8th at 1:00 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Seattle.

My deepest sympathies to Jody's family and close friends. I was devastated to read this sad news.I went all through school with Jody from Alderwood Elementary to Alderwood Junior High and Lynnwood High School. She was my favorite friend all through those years. I remember playing in her back yard when we were kids and hanging out at her house when we were in our teens. She would always save me a seat on the school bus. As we grew and progressed through school it was her humor and her delightful personality that helped get me through those years. I regret not maintaining contact after we graduated, but I have often thought of Jody and remembered all the fun times we shared. I will never forget her.

Jody & I became friends when she was 5 & I 4. Jody was my first and best friend. Memories of Jody (her family) are woven within the fabric of who I am. She will forever be remembered as my friend and first mentor πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’”πŸ™πŸΌ
