James Williamson

James "Jim" Williamson, age 81, of Centerville, Iowa died Wednesday, November 03, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. He was born September 8, 1929 at St. Louis, Mo the son of Charles and Margaret Ann Winters Williamson. Jim grew up in Eldon and Eugene, Missouri. He is married to Margaret Vandemark Williamson. He spent the majority of his life as a boilermaker and worked out of Boilermakers Local 83 in Kansas City, Mo. Jim loved to travel, fish, gardening, playing solitaire and was especially proud of his Scottish/Irish heritage. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army from 1950- 1952. Surviving is his wife Margaret, children Charles Williamson of Osceola, IA, Jerry (Betsy) Williamson of Hudson Falls, NY, Kevin (Marlene) Williamson of Numa, Iowa, Martha (Cliff) Jones of Mystic, IA, Patrick (Tammy) Williamson of Centerville, Harry Williamson of Manhattan, KS, Mary (Randy) Mulay of Centerville, Iowa, James Williamson and special friend Amber Mathes of Numa, IA; 22 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one due in February of 2011; sisters Nettie Nibert, Kansas City, MO and Ailene Pruitt of Peoria, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. ...[more]

was preceded in death by his parents, brother Thomas Williamson, sisters Helen Williamson, Josephine Williamson, Pauline Deffenbaugh. Funeral services with military rites will be held 1 PM, Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Harley Henson officiating. Pastors Gary Carter and Joe Hayes will also be assisting with the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Sharon Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held all day Friday at Lange Funeral Home, with the family present from 6-8 PM.
