How Did We Do?

Linda was born on October 28, 1948 in Rochester, MN and was called home to Jesus on October 25, 2018. She is survived by her husband, Gary of Everett, WA; her parents, Beverly and Reuben Raymond of Arlington, WA; her sisters, Corinn Hooton of Salem, OR, and Renee Raymond of Arlington, WA; her brother-in-law, Rick (Dianne) Vaught of Bozeman, MT; and sister-in-law, Arlyce Watson of White Silver Springs, MD. She was also dearly loved by 6 nieces and 6 nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. She loved them all as if they were her own. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Mona Vaught of Brockton, MT; sister-in-law Lucille (Lyle) Schick of Lodge Grass, MT; and brother-in-law, Phil Watson, of White Silver Springs, MD.

Linda (or Dee Dee as she was known to many) was the first born girl in the Raymond family. She was a happy baby. As a young child Linda lived in Rochester, MN and attended elementary school there. The family moved to the Seattle area in 1957. She grew up in Seattle and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966. She also attended Puget Sound Bible College for a short time. Linda and Gary met at church and fell in love. They married on January 4, 1969 and were looking forward to celebrating their 50th anniversary this coming winter. They had plans to renew their vows to celebrate this occasion.

Linda was a gentle, loving woman that always had a kind word for everyone. She amazed us with her ability to recall things. You could ask her any of her friend's birthdays, addresses or phone numbers and she wouldn't even have to look them up. She never forgot a name or face. She was a skilled bookkeeper and worked in that position for Clark Office Products for over 25 years. Everyone always talks about her graciousness and generosity. She will be missed by many.

Linda had a very rough time health-wise for the last 10 years. She tried to remain positive in spite of her limitations. She became more and more disabled as time went by and the last year was extremely hard for her. She missed being able to be go places and be socialable. We are so thankful that she is now pain-free and is able to walk and be with family and friends that have gone on before her. We know that we will see her again and that fills us with hope and gratitude.

"Has this world been so kind to you that you should leave with regret? There are better things ahead than any we leave behind." C.S. Lewis

Rev. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

To my dear friends of the Raymond family. I count it an honor to have known Linda for all of these years. She has shown me what perseverance is along with the spirit of Christ living in you can do!! Your family has stuck with each other through thick and thin. Not everyone can say that! Linda's obedience to Christ's word and direction have shown me that life ALWAYS has a silver lining in each day that God has given us as we live our life down here on earth! You all love each other so much and to me that has been a huge testament of your Christian faith💜. Linda will be missed by many but we're so happy she's pain free now and is rejoicing with our Lord!! God be with you til we meet again sweet Linda🎶

Linda, you always made me feel special. Bringing a cake to the bowling alley to celebrate my birthday was always a nice surprise. Letting me know I was loved during my difficult times gave me great support. You projected God's love every day of your life. I was pained to see your health deteriorate and look forward to seeing your smile again. You were loved and are missed. Until then...

Linda Raymond Vaught was one amazing woman of God! She had a resilient faith that carried her through more suffering than many are called to bear. Linda radiated joy and strength every time I was with her, even three days before she died. She cared about others more than she cared about herself. When visiting her in the hospital, two doctors and one nurse came in to see her. She expressed her concern for them and joy radiated from her, no complaining or self pity. Remarkable! I thought. She left a mark on everyone's life who knew her and will be missed by us all. Thank you, God, for your Spirit that lived in this remarkable woman!

I was so glad you called a couple of weeks ago. We didn't get to talk long as a nurse came into your room. You were supposed to call me back but didn't. I didn't know it would be the last time I would get to talk to you. I am so very sad we have all lost you but so glad you are no longer suffering. We have lots of good memories of the fun times we used to have. I will miss you my friend but I know your safe in the arms of Jesus, Dick and Janet

I haven't seen Linda in a few years but she will be missed. We shared the same birthday and were both from Minnesota. I met Linda when Gary bowled at Skyway Park Bowl. Rest in peace my friend. Robin Gordon
