ctivities including boating & golf. He and Phillis were charter members of the Ballard Creek Golf & Country Club. Jerry and Phillis enjoyed 25 years as Winter Texans in Mission, TX. There he continued his passion for music playing in various weekly jam band sessions. In the summer months he played in the Heartland Senior Band until he was in his 90's. He was honored and thrilled to be selected to be a participant of the inaugural Honor Flight to visit the veteran's memorials at Washington, D.C. Jerry was a 50-year plus member of the Slater American Legion Post 260. Jerry is survived by his wife Phillis of Huxley, his sister Marilyn Greene (John) of Huxley, his brother-in-law Ed Rood (Sharon) of Cambridge, his sister-in-law Darlene Newman of Phoenix,,AZ, his children, Peggy Bang (Roger) of Mason City, Charles Newman (Janel) of Lynnwood, WA, Barbara McFeaters (Paul) of Loogootee, IN, his grandchildren, Ange Newman and Lisa Newman both of Lynnwood, WA, Chad Newman(Amanda) and Troy Newman(LeCinda) both of Grants Pass, OR, Andrew McFeaters (Hillary) of Tallahassee, FL, CPT Mark McFeaters, of Savannah, GA,, Diane McFeaters of Evansville, IN, his great grandchildren, LuCas Newman of Marysville, WA, Emma Newman, Kaylee Newman, Jaxon Newman all of Grants Pass, OR, and nieces and Nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Oliver & Mae Newman, his parents-in-law Phillip & Mary Rood, his brother Robert Newman, and his brother-in-law Ron Dobbe. The family of Jerrol C.
