E.L. Bailey, 91, of Davie, FL passed away on November 12, 2018 in Plantation.
E.L. was born in Tunica, Mississippi to Early and Flora Bailey on May 30, 1927; he was one of nine children. He was a veteran of Korean War and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. E.L. married Modena Cobb and together they were successful business owners. They were partners in building Hollywood Hills Private School, Pembroke Road School, the community of Palm Haven, and numerous other ventures. E.L. was extremely generous and very gregarious; he was loved by all, and he was an example of God's "Agape" (unconditional) love to his family. No matter what, right or wrong, he stuck by his family and loved us even when we were being unlovable.
E.L. is preceded in death by his daughter, Darlena Bailey and seven siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Modena; grandson, Jim (Vivian) Bailey; and his sister, Sara Bailey Prather.
Visiting hours will be held at Fred Hunter's University Drive Home on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 P.M. E.L. will be laid to rest at Hollywood Memorial Gardens North.
