Howard Alvin Ciha, 93, of Lisbon, died at home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2018, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, by Rev. Karen Nelson. Visitation on Monday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Lisbon Cemetery. Howard was born on August 19, 1925, on the family farm the son of Frank and Anna (Baxa) Ciha. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1944, and honorably served in the United States Army. On January 23, 1954, he married Phyllis Bowers in Cedar Rapids. Howard was a lifelong farmer dedicated to caring for the land and his livestock. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, and preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Willard (Viola) Ciha and Bernard (Evelyn) Ciha. The family requests no flowers.
