He was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church, serving in various capacities including the Grace Medical Lending Closet. Due to his giving nature, he was loved by many. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tennis, scuba diving, music, and golf. Ron had a special fondness for each of his dogs throughout his life. Over the years, Ron and Diane have opened their home to many in need. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Stewart; his mother-in-law, Ruth Anne McDaniel; and brothers-in-law, Larry Saulters and Gordon McDaniel.
