ed States Marine Corps, but in 1981, he suffered a severe spinal injury while at work. Frank demonstrated the importance of hard work and perseverance by doing rehabilitation, returning to college and obtaining a degree in Engineering in 1986. From 1986 on, Frank remained a student in life, but his proudest achievement was being a father and then grandfather to his beloved number one girl, his granddaughter, Jillian Marie. Frank was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a friend and a hero.
Frank is survived by his wife of 45 years, Paula Marie Moshinski Rumsey of Wallkill; cherished daughter, Cheral Jeanette Rumsey of Wallkill; beloved son, Frank Mortimer Rumsey III of New Paltz; a brother, Kenneth Rumsey and his wife, Cathy of Wallkill; a sister, Cathy Carpenter of Easley, SC; father-in-law, Ernest Hopkins of Wallkill; precious grandaughter, Jillian Marie Rumsey of New Paltz, and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia Burns.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13 at Copeland Funeral Home, 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Paltz. Interment with military honors to follow in New Hurley Cemetary, Wallkill.
