Joan Rogers-Dingman, 92, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018. Services will be held 10 am Saturday, November 24, 2018, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. Joan was born September 8, 1926, in Chariton, IA, to Matthew and Dollie (Brawner) Smith. She married Bob Rogers on July 17, 1948, and together they raised five children. Joan worked for many years for Father Bacon at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Rosary Society, Merry Mixers, Westerners Square Dancers, and the East High Alumni Association. She truly loved square dancing, playing cards, and her time spent with her Bridge club. In her younger years, she was active in Grandview Little League. Most of all, Joan wanted to spend her time with her family. Rogers, Katherine Rogers, David (Lindsay) Rogers, Madeline Wingert, Matthew Wingert, Ashley Jaeger, Courtney Jaeger, Jayme Jaeger, Jeff Jaeger, Nathan (Cherie Johnson) Rogers, Colin (Mattie Sellers) Rogers; ten great-grandchildren; and her older sister, Betty (Ed) DeCamp-Regis of Riverside, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C Rogers; second husband, Bob Dingman; parents; son, Robert "Bob" C Rogers, Jr.; three sisters and one brother. The family wishes to thank all of the staff and volunteers at Parkridge Specialty Care for the attention and compassion they showed to Mom. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Friday, November 23, 2018, at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home.
