James Iliff

Jim Iliff, 61 of Glenwood, IA, unexpectedly passed away at his home on November 30, 2018. Per his family's wishes, cremation will take place. A Time of Gathering Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to the family. James Michael Iliff, one of four children of Richard Dale and Frances "Peggy" Irene (Wheeler) Iliff, was born on March 11, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska. He grew up and attended school in Omaha, graduating from Burke High School in 1975. Jim worked at a number of different places through the years, Glenwood Resource Center, established, owned and operated Iliff's TV Repair in Glenwood for a while, worked at ECI as a computer programmer in Glenwood for a number of years, and lastly was employed as a team leader at Moody's Analytics in Omaha, Nebraska. While working at the Glenwood Resource Center, Jim met Evelynn Louise Dunlap. The couple married on August 14, 1982 in Glenwood, Iowa. d living in the country where he raised a vegetable garden. He had a knack for building computers, writing computer programs and was great at troubleshooting glitches. Jim enjoyed astronomy and searching the night sky with his telescope, building robotics and using his 3-D printer, and was a true computer geek. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Jim was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa. Jim unexpectedly passed away at his Glenwood home on November 30, 2018 at the age of 61 years, 8 months, and 19 days. He was preceded in death by his father. Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years Evelynn; children, Adam Iliff and wife Jill of Ann Arbor, MI, Stephanie Courtier and husband Jeff of Malvern, IA, and Michael Iliff of West Des Moines, IA; five grandchildren, Jon Courtier, Kurt Iliff, Oliver Iliff, Skyler Courtier, and Maxwell Iliff; mother Peggy Iliff of Omaha, NE; siblings, Kathy Luers and husband Larry, Richard "Rich" Iliff and wife Theresa, and Patti Bahle and husband Jerry, all of Omaha; nieces and nephews; and other relatives.
