Allan William "Bud" Waldemar, 92, of Waterloo, went to his home in heaven on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Bridges Senior Living.
Bud was born on January 20, 1926 in Geneva, Minnesota, the son of Arthur & Isabelle (King) Waldemar.
He attended school in Albert Lea, MN. Bud enlisted in the United States Army during World War II on December 7, 1944. He was wounded in late 1945, and served until his honorable discharge in July 10, 1946.
Bud married Betty Mae Backus on March 20, 1949 in Spring Valley, MN. She died July 14, 2003.
He worked for Rath Packing Company for 36 years until retiring in 1982.
He was a life time member of Disabled American Veterans and V.F.W. Post #1623. Bud enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing cards. He was good at fixing things and was often tinkering with something or another.
Survived by his brother, Kenneth Waldemar of Florida; a sister, Delories Oeltjen of Spring Valley, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; two brothers, Robert and Dean Waldemar; a sister, Beatrice Lankey; and longtime companion, Loretta.
