Joseph John Kavaky, 77, of Red Hook, NY, passed away on Tuesday, November 27th, 2018 at The Baptist Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY.
Born on June 8th, 1941, in Struthers, OH, he was the son of the late Albert and Margaret (Leskovjansky) Kavaky. Joseph married Nancy Giles on September 12, 1998 at Christ Church in Red Hook, NY. Nancy survives at home in Red Hook.
Joe served on the USS Dewey for the United States Navy from 1960 - 1962 and was a longtime member of the Red Hook VFW Post 7765.
He worked for many years as an Electrical Engineer with IBM based out of Kingston, NY and was a member of their ΒΌ-Century Club.
A longtime communicant of St. Christopher's Church in Red Hook, he was an active member of St. Christopher's Holy Name Society and St. Christopher's Choir.

son, Joseph (Melissa Hopson) Kavaky, Jr of Florida; a brother James Kavaky of Ohio; his step daughters, Janet Carlisle Wilusz of Colorado, Kathleen Carlisle of Kingston, NY, and Kristen Morgan of Kingston, NY; his grandchildren, Caitlyn Jo Kavaky, and Kiera Marie Kavaky; his step grandchildren, Caitlin Wilusz, Mackenzie Wilusz, Preston Morgan, and Alexis Morgan; a cousin, Susan Powell; along with extended family and friends.
A sister, Lucille Kavaky, and a brother, Albert Kavaky, predecease him.
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Friday, November 30th, 2018 from 10 - 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM at St. Christopher's Church, Red Hook, NY. Interment will be private at St. Sylvia's Cemetery, Tivoli.
