As a child, he and his family were members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hallandale. He and his wife Judy were members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where he served as an Elder, for close to 40 years. Dave was tireless in all of his pursuits. He found tremendous enjoyment in his life. You would often find him working on his boat, fishing, watching NASCAR racing and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren who were precious to him.
