Theresa Lynn Carter-Seay

Theresa Lynn Carter Seay, 68, a lifelong resident of Keokuk, IA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 24, 2018 surrounded by her family. Theresa was born October 13, 1950 to Matthew and Oteria Foster Carter. She graduated 1969 from Keokuk High School, and then received her Associates of Arts Degree from Southeastern Community College. Theresa married Clifford Seay on April 5, 1996. She is survived by her husband, Clifford Seay, one daughter, Melani Carter of Burlington, IA, three granddaughters, Alaysha Seay, Amira Onofrietti, and Brenna Beggs, one grandson Dominic Onofrietti, all of Burlington, IA. One brother, Gerald Carter, of Minneapolis, MN. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and best friend Maria Burgess. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Keith, Dwayne, and Harold Carter; and two stillborn sisters. Theresa was retired from UTA (Henniges) after thirty years of service. She was a member of New Bethel Church where she loved singing on the Praise Team and working with the youth. Theresa also worked with the card ministry and visiting the sick and elderly. urs to helping others. She traveled on many mission trips always giving from the heart. Theresa had such a tireless spirit when it came to helping and reaching out to others. Theresa loved to sing and dance and was a member of the Voices of Worship. She was an animal lover, and devoted to the wellbeing of others. Theresa's heart was always touched by her grandchildren and she loved spending as much time as possible with them. Visitation will be Friday, January 4th, 2019 from 3 to 5 p.m. with family meeting loved ones from 5 to 8 p.m. at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center, 1212 Concert St, Keokuk, IA 52632. Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 5th, 2019 at 11am with Pastor Debra Letcher officiating at New Bethel Church of Keokuk, 1217 Morgan St, Keokuk, IA.
