Jerry L. Johnson age 67 of Maquoketa Iowa and formerly of Norwalk Iowa died suddenly on Friday morning April 212006.0 at his home in Maquoketa Iowa.



A celebration of his life will be held at 7 P.M. Monday April 242006.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa with Chaplain/Celebrant Rev. Ruth Ann Scott of Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 P.M. Service Time on Monday April 242006.0 at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service and scattering of the cremated body will take place at a later date.



Jerry L. Johnson was born on May 10 1938 in Hartley Iowa to Oren and Bonnie Johnson. He was educated in Willow River Minnesota and then became a veteran of the U.S. Army being honorably discharged. He married Marla Van Der Sloot on December 19 1959 in Primghar Iowa and they were married for 23 years. He then married Susan M. Wilson Baker on May 9 1992 in Des Moines Iowa.

n employment had been with Heideman Dry Wall Company in Des Moines working there for over 15 years. He had lived and worked in Des Moines and Sioux City areas the longest. He retired from construction in 2001 and moved to Maquoketa. In 2003 he became a farmhand working for Harlan Tonderum until present.



Jerry enjoyed fishing hunting gardening farm work and playing all kinds of cards.



Jerry is survived by: his wife- Susan Baker Johnson of Maquoketa IA; children- Laurie(Mrs. Jim) Andringa of Fairmont MN Deb(Mrs. Rich) Graham of Des Moines IA Jeff(Cathy) Johnson of Maquoketa IA Daniel(Lisa) Johnson of Des Moines IA; step-children- Tiffany Baker of Lincoln NE & Joseph Baker of Maquoketa IA; 13 grandchildren; a sister- Cindy(Mrs. Kenny) Schleret of MN; & brothers- Dana(Kathy) Johnson Gary(Ginny) Johnson Larry(Debbie) Johnson & Lee(Lyne) Johnson all of MN. He was preceded in death by his parents.



A Jerry L. Johnson Memorial Fund has been established.
