Jeffrey "Jeff" W. Skinner

Jeffrey William Skinner was born on August 9, 1970 in Portsmouth, VA to William Kenneth and Dianne Edelle (Moore) Skinner. Jeff departed this life at his home in Waterloo, IA on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Jeff spent most of his childhood in Southwest Iowa and graduated from South Page High School in 1989. After high school, he joined the Army for a couple of years. Once out of the Army, Jeff returned to Iowa, spending most of his adult life in the Des Moines area before relocating to Eastern Iowa a few years ago. Jeff enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was especially close with his mother prior to her passing and his Grandma Carmen, who he called faithfully every Sunday. He had a good sense of humor and teased his nieces and nephews every chance he could. He also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and watching the Redskins play football. Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude & Elizabeth Skinner and Francis Moore; parents, William & Dianne Skinner; and nephew, Gage Stanton. IA; step-brother Nick Butler of Des Moines, IA; step-brother Rick Butler of Kansas City, MO; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home. Burial of the cremains will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
