n 1981, Sarah and Freddy would retire and eventually move to Southwest Ranches (Broward County) in 1983, where they built a lovely home on a large piece of property surrounded by family and friends. The property would offer plenty of room for their growing family and six rambunctious grandchildren. Life was busy for the Fisikelli family, but one of the most cherished memories would have to be their yearly trips to the Florida Keys for the annual lobster mini-season, in which family and close friends; the Comas, Railsbacks and Boundrants would join them every year. This annual trip was started back when Sarah and Freddy's children were still in grade school. The tradition continues to this day with family members and friends. Melinda and her husband Jeff would bless Sarah and Freddy with the first of their eight great-grandchildren, Hailey in 2000 then followed by Hannah in 2002 and again with Michael in 2005. Their grandson Michael and his wife Carrie would further bless the couple with two more great-grandchildren: Ryan in 2008 and Andrew in 2012. Nick and his wife Beca continued the trend, adding great-grandchild number six, Amelie in 2012 and number eight with Lincoln in 2015. Matt and his wife Courtney added the seventh great-grandchild, Georgiana in 2012. Kris married Allison, who added two step great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Tyler to the bunch in 2015. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was loved by all that met and knew her. She was a "feisty" woman, never complaining, full of life, witty remarks and the best memory of anyone around. She was always ready to listen and made sure to follow up on whatever events occurred. Family members could always expect to receive a birthday card with money taped inside. She loved her family, her cows and barn cats, or for Little Grandma, her "Pests!" She was a devoted member of Saint Mark's Catholic Church and, as Freddy became a council member for the town of Southwest Ranches, she lovingly stood by his side and helped with whatever she could. The highlight of her years were the holidays; Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas when she could get the entire family together for lunch/dinner. This included her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins, and all the extended family members whether by blood or not. These holidays were some of the best times for all involved. Sarah was "feisty" until the day she was called home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 12th, 2019. She will always be remembered for her good-natured attitude, her willingness to help others, her sharp quips, which her doctors experienced first-hand, and her strong will to survive anything and everything she faced. She will forever and always be "Little Grandma" and one of the most loved members of the Fisikelli family. Sarah is proceeded in death by her mother, Helen Yeats; father, Marshall Yeats; and two brothers, John and Jay.
