ndchildren Riley, Reese, and Jaraden Kearby, Cheyenne Elliott, Cade, Julianna, Mason, and Pierce Elliott. Carol leaves behind a host of loving family members, life-long school friends, and her church family. Carol was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. She was not only an American patriot, but also a Texan through and through, but she was most proud of her German Lutheran heritage. She held the finest job in the world. She was a loving mother, raising her children with humility, care, canasta, and a great faith. She was the epitome of a caretaker. She worked with Bill in their family businesses and she volunteered in her community, church, and the children's schools. Carol would tell anyone her truest calling was that of being a Gramma. Her biggest smiles came at the sight or mention of her grandchildren. Carol was always heard at any of her children or grandchildren's games or events, often with her cowbell in hand. She taught her grandchildren to cook, sing songs, play cards, appreciate a sunset, and take pleasure in small things, especially the smell of a freshly mowed yard. She could make fun out of a cardboard box and a bit of cloth and many times, she gathered every valuable in the house up so the kids could have a "store", even though she was their only customer. She made everything fun and she was so creative that she would draw a coloring book for the kids to color if they were out of them. There were thousands of small lessons imparted over time and she would talk to anyone who would listen, and she spoke like a friend even to strangers. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Ruby Rosenthal and many beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who surely were pushing and shoving at Heaven's gates to get to chat with Carol Ann again. Since May 2016, Carol has battled the effects of ALS with courage, patience, and strength. The disease took most everything from her but never her smile, her ability to tease whoever was caring for her that day, or her unfailing faith in God, whom she praised daily to the end. There will be a family visitation from 5-7 p.m. Sunday January 27th, at Harper's Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3536 Lutheran Way, off Loop 306, with the internment to follow at Lawnhaven Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the family and friends who have supported and cared for Carol. They would also like to give special thanks to her doctors, especially Dr. Shaida Khan, who truly exemplifies a caring physician. Special thanks to the HOSA team and the doctors and staff at Community Hospital. The family requests that any memorials or donations be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church, Meals for the Elderly, or Hospice of San Angelo.
