Funeral Services for Mr. Charlie Eugene "Gene" Bilbrey, age 85, of the Taylors Crossroads Community will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Harold Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Nelson Cemetery, with Military Honors provided at graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will welcome friends on Saturday morning, February 23rd from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home. Gene passed from this life on Wednesday evening, February 20, 2019 from the Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born at home in Overton County, Tennessee on December 30, 1933 to the late Johnie & Reba Deck Bilbrey. Gene was a 1954 Graduate of Livingston Academy and served his country during the Korean conflict. He loved fishing and squirrel hunting and watching the Patriots. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, Clauis "Fox" Bilbrey, Jerry Bilbrey, and Clifford Bilbrey; infant sister, Mildred Marie Bilbrey. Pallbearers to serve are Tim Oakley, Jason Oakley, Larry Bilbrey, Darrell Bilbrey, David Bilbrey, John Bilbrey, Glenn Kirksey, and Aaron Neal. Gene requested that memorial donations be made to the Nelson Cemetery Fund.
