Robert Allen Stauffer, 74, passed away March 4, 2019. He was born May 31, 1944 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. As a small child he was raised by his aunt and uncle, the late Kenneth Bankes and Esther Stauffer. He was also predeceased by his wife Carol.
Robert came to Sarasota last year from Dover, Pennsylvania. He was a Methodist and a member of the VFW Post 537 in Etters, PA; The Goldsboro Fireman's Club and the Ollie's Allstar Circuit of Champions. Robert was the owner and operator of a business that made wings for sprint cars. He loved dirt track racing, John Wayne movies, flea markets, puzzles, Nascar and was a huge Patriots fan!
Left to cherish his memory are his companion, Jan Hunsucker; children, Angel Klasnick and her husband Tom; Brian Stauffer and his wife Tanya; and Christina Snyder and her husband Michael; sister, Betty (Wayne); grandchildren, Brandon, Brady, Bradley, Brianna, Presley, Alex and Max; and his beloved cat, Scooter.
Interment with military honors will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery to be announced soon.
