Wanda A. Asleson

Stoughton- Wanda A. Asleson, age 69, died on Monday, November 15, 2010 at her home.  She was born in Edgerton on January 20, 1941, the daughter of Warren and Ingrid (Vaade) Fessenden.  Wanda graduated from Stoughton High School.  On July 1, 1961 she married John Asleson at First Lutheran Church in Stoughton.  Wanda worked for over 20 years as an Ophthalmic Assistant for Dr. Hermundstad and Dr. McCanna, retiring in 2003.  She enjoyed singing in the festival choir, quilting, sewing, bird watching and spending time with her family and friends.  Wanda was a member of Vineyard Community Church of Oregon for the last 25 years.  She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John; son, Evan of Baraboo; daughter, Amy (Rick) Hein of Reedsville; five grandchildren, Sarah, Sophie, Matthew, Nicholas and Eleni; two sisters-in-law, Edith Fessenden and Shirley Fessenden; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lynda; and three brothers, Forrest, Owen and Wayne Fessenden.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 20, 2010 ...[more]
