David G. Walz

David G. Walz, age 56, of 1202 Hamann Lane, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at 4:31 pm in Blessing Hospital. David was born September 27, 1954 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Greg and Bernie Kathmann Walz. David was a 1972 graduate of Quincy Senior High School.  He received his Bachelors of Science degree in physics from Western Illinois University. David worked on the East Coast as a contractor for investment companies and a computer programmer.  He enjoyed scuba diving, horseback riding, swimming and was an avid student of American and world history, math and physics. Survivors include his mother, Bernie Walz of Quincy; two sons, Gregor Walz of Schofield, WI, and Aaron Walz of Waltham, MA; two sisters, Barbara (Michael) Unger of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Michele (Robert Shutter) Walz of Poway, CA; an aunt, Rita Cook of Quincy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
