Josephine A. Sullivan, 82, 410 Locust, Quincy, died Thursday, March 23,2000 at 7PM in Blessing Hospital. She was born October 12, 1917 in Ft. Madison, IA, the daughter of Joseph P. Ayala and Idella Ayala McColez. On February 7, 1937, she married Albert J. Sullivan in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1981. She was employed by Blessing Hospital as a respiratory technician for 28 years, but continued to work part time until ill health caused her to quit. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth Society, Blessing 10 year Plus Club, Moose Academy of Friendship, KC Auxiliary, AARP, and the Eagles Auxiliary. Survivors include 2 sons, James A. Sullivan and his wife Krista, Manchester, NH; Roger C. Sullivan and his wife Eileen, Quincy; daughter, Rose M. O'Neill, Lyons, IL; 6 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kimberly and James Sullivan, Manchester, NH; Allen Sullivan, Pekin, IL; April and Angie Sullivan, Quincy; 2 greatgrandchildren, Megan and Gaige Sullivan, Quincy; 3 sisters, Mrs. Pauline Iwanski, Esther Flowers and Mrs. Frances Watson, all of Quincy; numerous nieces and nephews She also was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Jesus McCole...[more]

Sr., son-in-law Thomas O'Neill, 5 sisters Ruth Meyer, Petronilla Jolley, Felipa Paup, Jacqueline McColez, and Mildred Ayala, 2 brothers Junior and Terrel McColez. Funeral Services will be 9:30 am Monday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home and at 10am at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rev. John Carberry officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Sunday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Josephine Sullivan Fund.
