Roy C. Miller, 80, 2418 Cherry Street, Quincy, died Wednesday, December 20, 2000 at 11:35 am in his home. He was born March 11, 1920 in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Herman and Elsie Kinsey Miller. On July 11, 1942, he married Ilah C. 'Toots' Chandler in Palmyra, MO. She preceded him in death on August 31, 1994. He attended Hannibal Schools. He served in the US Army in World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the V.F.W. and an active supporter of the paralyzed veterans' groups. He was stockroom manager at Electric Wheel, retiring after 30 years. He was an avid Bible scholar and enjoyed reading the Bible. He was an active woodworking craftsman as a hobby, and he also enjoyed 3-D puzzles. He was a fond lover of his dog, Chang. Survivors include a 4 sons, LeRoy Miller, Quincy; Charles Miller and his wife, Pat, Fremont, CA; Edward Miller, Palmyra, MO; Michael Miller and his wife, Laura, Quincy; 2 daughters, Marilyn Abbath and her husband, Ken, Quincy; Carolyn Carper and her husband, Lindell, Quincy; 1 step daughter, Mardi Murphy and her husband, Michael, Kinderhook, IL; 17 grandchildren, 3 stepgrandchildren, many greatgrandchildren, halfsister, Juanita Schnitzer...[more]

Funeral Services will be 2 pm Friday, December 22, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Rev. Steve Schuette officiating. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6pm Thursday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society .
