Steve Goodwin, age 76, of 1537 Wilkes Ave., Quincy, died Saturday January 7, 2012, at 12:30 AM in Blessing Hospital. Steve was born November 21, 1935 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Delbert and Dorothy Alexander Goodwin He married Louise Edgecomb in 1955 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on May 13, 1974. On July 21, 1974 he married Karen J. Steve in Quincy. She preceded him in death on October 3, 2010. Steve worked 24 years at Moorman Manufacturing as a mechanic. He later joined Quincy Mack as a Service Manager and eventually transferred to Rochester Mack (NY). After 10 years at Rochester he returned to Quincy Mack where he worked until his retirement at the end of 2009. Steve was a wonderful singer and greatly enjoyed singing gospel music. Being the especially gifted musician he was, Steve played several instruments including the trumpet, trombone and tuba. He very much enjoyed working with his hands and was an awesome mechanic. In his spare time he loved to watch old westerns. In addition to his two wives Steve was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Tonya Mayfield, a granddaughter Gwendolyn Goodwin and two brothers Milton and Kenneth Goodwin. Services: 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Keith Ehresman officiating.
