Deborah Jo Cowan

Aitkin, MN/McFarland, WI- Deborah Jo "Deb" Cowan, age 45, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, September 30, 2010 of natural causes.  She was born in Madison on October 14, 1964, the daughter of John and Barbara Cowan.  On March 22, 2005 Deb was united in marriage to Alvin Gruenhagen.  She had a great love of animals, the outdoors, gardening, canning, baking and cooking.  Deb had a green thumb and was employed at Great River Gardens in Aitkin, MN.  She is survived by her husband, Al; daughter, Laura (Ron) Cowan of Twin Cities, MN; mother, Barbara (Dick) Valley of McGregor, MN; father, John (Lois) Cowan of McFarland; three brothers, Rick (Mary) of Atlanta, GA, Phil (Bekki) of Stoughton and John (Kerri) Cowan of Madison; sister, Regan Cowan of Madison; step brother, Tim Dalby of Hickoryville, NC; step sister, Shannon (Mike) Benzing of Post Falls, Idaho; and many relatives and friends.  Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in McFarland.  Friends may greet the family from 4:00 PM until the time of services on Tuesday.  [more]
