Howard E. Lund

Howard E. Lund , age 78 of 27494 327th Ave., LaGrange, MO died Monday, September 3, 2007 at 11:47 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. He was born December 26, 1928 in Pontiac, Illinois the son of Martin and Mabel Heckendorn Lund. On July 10, 1955 he married Mildred Nothnagel in Quincy. She survives. Mr. Lund grew up in O'Dell, IL and moved to Steffenville, MO. He moved to Quincy in 1952. He worked at Deters Dairy, then at Marblehead Lime Co. and then as a security guard at Moorman Mfg. until his retirement in December of 1990. Mr. Lund enjoyed gardening, working on small engines and antique cars. He loved his family, children and grandchildren. He also loved life and laughter. He was well known for his smile and out going personality. "He never met a stranger". Mr. Lund was a member of Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene and Mississippi Valley Historical Auto Club. O; Richard Lund of Bethel, MO; and Martin Lund, Jr. of Bethel, MO; two sisters-in-law, Clara Reddick of Taylor, MO, and Faye Lund of Bethel, MO; a brother-in-law, LeRoy Jones of Ewing, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Ruth Jones and Doris Bauerrichter; a brother, Donald Lund; and a son, Joseph Keith Lund. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Jim Frye officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorials made to Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene or the charity of the donor's choice in his name would be appreciated.
