Marcos Army Air Field on January 14, 1944. He was a member of the Quincy Consistory AASR the Forty-Niners of Fifty-One. After the war, Bill and Johnny Norris founded Cylindro Gas Company, a propane company that expanded to Vandalia, MO and Hetro Gas Company in Cameron, MO. Bill purchased the Midwest Distributing Company in 1965, a heating, air conditioning and plumbing equipment supplier and distributor. After the purchase, Bill added kitchen cabinets, appliances and fireplaces. He also was the founder of Counter Top Processing in Quincy. He was a member of Quincy Country Club. In addition to his wife, Dr. Maxine Stock who survives at the home, their are three daughters: Babette Stock of San Francisco, CA; Janese Neher of Jefferson City, MO; and Sondra Gilmore of Louisburg, KS; four grandchildren: John Bryan, Max Neher, Stock Neher, and Shannon Bryan; and two great grandchildren: Audrey and Jack Bryan. Also surviving are four brothers: Bob Stock of Santa Maria, CA, Roger Stock of Segonaville, TX, Richard Stock of Tyler, Tx, Steve Stock of Moline, IL and two sisters, Bonnie Scholl of Dallas, TX and Rosemary Rojas of Tampa, Fl. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Billy, in 1959; and two daughters: Stephanie in 1956 and Lori Ruth in 2000; two brothers, Glenn and Donald (Jaco) Stock and one sister, Bette Stock Thomas, and his loyal canine companion Par. Services: Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 2:00 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin McGinnis officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
