Mark W. Hummel

Mark W. Hummel, age 43, of 1373 N. 1005th Pl., died Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 12:00 a.m. in Sycamore Health Care Center. He was born April 7, 1965 in Quincy the son of Carl H. and Sally Ann Pohlman Hummel. He was a 1983 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame. He worked in new home construction the past few years. Mark was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. He loved bird watching and boating on the river with his friends. Mark was a tin duster enthusiast and enjoyed going to toy shows where he traded miniature cars and tractors. His greatest joy was spending time with his nieces and nephews and was considered an "incredible uncle". Survivors include three brothers: John Hummel and his wife, Cinda, of Quincy; Dave Hummel and his wife, Lynn, of Quincy; and Steve Hummel and his wife, Dorothy, of Edwarsdville, IL; a sister, Anne Wiegand and her husband, Steve, of Taylor, MO; nine nieces and nephews: Ellen, Peter, and Claire Hummel of Quincy; Elizabeth, Michael, and Andrew Hummel of Quincy; Ted and Kate Hummel of Edwardsville, IL; and Ben Runser and his wife, Sarah, of Florissant, MO; an aunt, Winnie Niehaus of Jacksonville, IL; and an uncle, Pete Pohlman of Quincy. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
