Kenneth L. Gooding, age 79, of 2197 N. 2250th Ave., Camp Point, died Monday, February 23, 2015, at 7:50 pm in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Kenneth was born August 26, 1935 in Meyer, Illinois, the son of Clarence Martin and Anna Elizabeth Wilcox Gooding. On January 21, 1955 he married his childhood sweetheart, Barbara Marie Carter. She survives. Kenneth was a 1953 graduate of Unity High School. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. Kenneth had worked as maintenance supervisor for the Adams County Highway Department for 32 years until his retirement in 1995. Kenneth was a founding member of the Adams County Olde Tyme Association, and he was instrumental in equipping their building at the Adams County Fair Grounds. He was also a board member of the ABS Water Cooperative. Kenneth loved horses and ponies, and he was the owner, operator, and President of Bear Creek Pony Rides. In addition to horses and traveling, Kenneth loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
