Wilma Giroux

Wilma Giroux , age 91, of Quincy, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 3:00 am in her home. Wilma was born December 8, 1924 in Barry, Illinois, the daughter of Bill and Freda Mae Forden. She married Frank Giroux on June 9, 1945 in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1995. She was raised in Barry, IL by her grandparents, the Vahles. Wilma ran a beauty shop out of her home for many years. She also was employed by Paper Box Company and the Shoe Factory. She retired from Motorola. Wilma avidly crocheted making beautiful afghans. She also liked to read and do puzzles. Survivors include her two sons, Michael (Sharon) Giroux of Quincy, IL, and Ernest (Sue) Giroux of Hannibal, MO; her daughter, Esther (Wendell) Hirner-Quick of Palmyra, MO; 11 grandchildren, Rebecca (Brad) Kingery, Cherie Emerick, Dawn Garlick, Tim (Denise) Giroux, Tammy (Louis) Cates, Toni (Jonathan White) Wankel, Stephen (Nancy) Giroux, Aaron Giroux, Michelle, Melissa and John Hirner; numerous great grandchildren, and sister, Phyllis Crane.
