Barbara J. "B.J." Sparks, age 81, of Quincy died on Monday, February 13, 2017, at 11:41 am in her home. Barb was born February 8, 1936 in Windam, Kansas, the daughter of Virgil Edgar and Allene Lois Harris Terry. She married Donald Sparks on September 4, 1954 in the Marquette Methodist Church in Marquette, Kansas. He survives. Barb loved fishing at Bennett Springs in Lebanon, Missouri. She enjoyed camping, cooking and sewing. Barb was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors in addition to her husband, Donald, include three daughters, Nancy Garrett of Tucson, AZ, Debbie (Scott) Schell and Connie (Jerry) Harcharick, both of Quincy, IL; six grandchildren, Kristine Mayfield of Tucson, AZ, Ryan Sparks of St. Louis, MO, Megan Sparks, Eric and David Schell, and Laura Harcharick, all of Quincy; one great-grandson, Gage Mayfield of Tucson, AZ; three sisters, Eloise Peterson and Sue (Allyn) Gillberg, both of Lindsborg, KS, and Sharon (Jack) Changler of Marquette, KS; one brother, Harris ( Faye) Terry of McPeherson, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
