Betty A. Hickerson

Betty Ann Hickerson, age 82, of Quincy, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 7:40 pm in Blessing Hospital. Betty was born December 24, 1935 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Ezra and Emmaline Whitaker Baker. She married Robert Junior Hickerson on June 27, 1953 in Calvary Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1998. Betty was a graduate of Payson-Seymour High School. After graduation, she worked at the Quincy Herald-Whig until she and Robert started their family. After her children were grown, she returned to the Herald-Whig where she worked in the circulation department as an accounting clerk. Betty was a woman of faith, and she had been active in several churches in the area. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, reading, and solving word search puzzles. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her special friend Harold Peters, and spending time with her grandchildren.
