Carol J. Bushmeyer

Carol Bushmeyer, age 61, of Quincy, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 3:22 pm in Blessing Hospital. Carol was born April 3, 1956 in Hannibal, Missouri, the daughter of Donald and Annett Green Orr. She married her high school sweetheart Rodney Bushmeyer on April 27, 1974 in Kinderhook, IL. He was the love of her life and she was dedicated to helping him on the family farm. He survives. Carol was a 1974 graduate of West Pike High School and graduated from Quincy Beauty Academy. She had a beauty shop in her home near Hull so she could be a stay at home mom. They moved to Quincy in 1999 and she was employed in the J. C. Penney Beauty Salon until she and Patti Bruns opened, "Talk of the Town" beauty shop on 24th Street where she worked as well until 2013. Carol was a member of The Crossing and loved boating, singing, traveling and spending time with friends at the Lake of the Ozarks. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, riding in her convertible and going out to dinner with friends. 10 grandchildren, Alex, Audrey, Nick and Ryan Bushmeyer of Dardenne Prairie, MO, Logan, Bella and Brooks Sonethongkham of Quincy, and Reese and Pierce Bushmeyer of Hull, IL; 2 sisters and 2 brothers, nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Roman Bushmeyer. She is now dancing in heaven with Roman in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. Karaoke is on the docket next.
