Richard "Dick" Whelan

Richard "Dick" Whelan, age 67, of Casper, Wyoming and formerly of Quincy, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 5:07 p.m. in Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming. Dick was born on December 28, 1950, in Quincy, Illinois, a son of Benedict and Delores Liesen Whelan. He married Janice Jackson on August 28, 1971. She survives. Dick worked for Awerkamp Machine Company for 40 years. He was active with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Miss Quincy Pageant and the Wildwood Girl Scout Camp. Dick was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by two daughters: Jessica (Michael) Schuering, of Gypsum, CO; and Hattie (Jeremy) Cundiff, of Casper, WY; two grandchildren: Andrew and Kathryn Schuering, both of Gypsum, CO; a brother Robert (Mary) Whelan, of Quincy; and two nieces and a nephew. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter. Services: 10:00 a.m., April 4, 2018 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Stinnett officiating.
