Mr. Carl Franklin Mooney, age 85, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019. He was born in Davenport, IA on July 13, 1933 to Franklin & Alice (Franklin) Mooney and served his country in the US Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Mary Rose Costello on August 11, 1956. Mr. Mooney continued his career as a Cost Analyst for the US Army for 35 years until retiring in 1988. Carl was a devoted parishioner at his church, wherever he lived, with his last parish being St. Mary's in Spring Lake. Carl enjoyed helping people and he could fix anything, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed and is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Rose; children, Michael (Linda) Mooney of Holland, Macaire (Bob) Davis of Jenison, Matthew Mooney of Rockford, Madonna (Scott) Kramer of Spring Lake, Margaret (John) Gordon of Millstone Township, NJ; Bridget (Harold) Bergeron of Clinton Township; Joseph (Jennifer) Mooney of Rochester Hills; 20 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his triplet daughter Mary Colleen Mooney; brother, Ralph and sister, Dorothy.

rial will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2019, 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Spring Lake with Fr. David Gross officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
