Julie Ann (Plagge) Castillo, 54, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, formerly of Latimer, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was born February 9, 1965, in Belmond, Iowa, to Marvin and Mary (Campbell) Plagge. Julie graduated from CAL Community School in Latimer, class of 1983. She furthered her education at Central College in Pella and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor's degree in home economics. Julie was united in marriage on August 28, 1995, to Elias Castillo in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She worked in restaurant management and most recently was employed at Pillsbury. Julie was affiliated with Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer. Julie enjoyed camping, baking and cooking. She worked as a cook at Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert in Minnesota. Julie loved flowers; specifically, lilacs, tulips and peonies. Her family was very important to her, as well as her dogs. She was a proud collector of just about anything Pillsbury Doughboy and those little target dogs, as well. Julie always spent her weekends with her family; shopping and going out to eat. Julie is survived by her husband Elias Castillo of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, daughter Kayla Castillo of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, daughter Kacie Castillo of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, son Eric Castillo of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, father Marvin (LaVonne) Plagge of Latimer, sister Jennifer (Tom) Cross of Gardner, Kansas, brother John (Anne) Plagge of Hampton, nephew Alfonso Castillo of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, several aunts and uncles, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Plagge.
