Danny Grover Workman

Danny Grover Workman, 68, of Columbia City, Indiana, died Saturday, March 30, 2019. Danny was born on May 31, 1950 to Henry Grover and Mona Jean (Rumbaugh) Workman where he was raised with his sisters Lucy (Harter), Connie (Conn), Debbie (Dreger) and brother Hank. He spent his childhood in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He graduated Northside High School with the Class of 1968. He was involved with intermural sports, his church and Youth for Christ. It was at Youth for Christ where he met his best friend and love of his life, Deborah Anne Carr. On June 25, 1971 Danny married Debbie at Immanuel Baptist Church and together they raised four children, Nathan (Jennifer) Joel (Julie), Rachel (Joshua Knott) and Miriam (Brian Champine). Danny graduated from Anderson College in 1980. His life's passion was to serve God and care for God's people, which he did faithfully for 43 years at several Church of God congregations in Wyoming, Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Ohio. (Sustaining Health and Pastoral Excellence). Gentle and warm, generous and wise, Danny exhibited the love of Christ to all who knew him. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, woodworking and cooking (especially grilled meats and his special salsa). For the past 20 years, he and Debbie have found great delight in their grandchildren, Luke, Abigail, Faith, Ethan, Andrew, Anna, Chloe, Zachary, Seth, Levi, and Lydia. He was preceded to heaven by his parents and his granddaughter, Grace Kathleen Workman. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, April 3 from 2-7 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN 46725. A funeral service to celebrate Danny's life will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens in Ft. Wayne.
