Building on her dedication to excellence in patient care, she later served as one of Mayo's first Surgical RN Communicators, delivering messages and providing support to patients' families the day of their surgery. Janice is survived by two children, Jodi (Jason) and Jon (Jen), one step-son, Steven (Beverly), six beloved grandchildren, Rayna, Summit, Clara, Leif, Weston and Kelsey, and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, all of whom she dearly missed. Prior to her passing, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends - particularly her grandchildren - desserts, her treasured Pomeranian Mysti, desserts, gardening, and desserts. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staffs of Bostrom Terrace, Mayo Clinic and North Memorial Hospital for their excellent care. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester. The family welcomes all who knew Jan to join them as early as 10:00 a.m., with a service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will follow.
