Thomas “Tom” Deal

Thomas McRay Deal Jr. passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the age of 66. Celebration of life is 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2019 at Brown, Owens and Brumley's Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel. Visitation is 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday afternoon at the Funeral Home. Burial is 1 p.m., Thursday, April 18 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Thomas was born on November 14, 1952 in Fort Benning, Georgia, the son of Thomas McRay and Betty Deal. Being the son of a career Army 1st Sgt., Tom experienced Army life for his first 17 years. Tom then decided to leave the "Army life" and join the US Air Force at age 18. During his 20 years in the United States Air Force he served as a C130 crew chief and retired as a Master Sergeant. One of his fondest memories was during the 1970's, while stationed at Hickam AFB in Hawaii he was member of the 6594th test group where he retrieved deorbited spy satellites. Tom had many loves consisting of Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas Longhorns football, golfing, and shooting guns with his wife.
