on in Heerlen, Holland, to celebrate 55 years to the day the 102nd liberated that city. Julia and Allen remained in Oskaloosa until 2012, when they moved to Osage to senior living and then to assisted living. Allen died on September 22, 2014; Julia stayed in Osage following his death. Her hobbies included collecting antiques, especially antique children's toys, going to auctions, quilting, embroidery, and cross stitch. She also enjoyed the game of golf and playing bridge with friends. Julia was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa and spent time as a Sunday School teacher, a chairman of the church circle. She was also president of Woman's Club, and a member of the Women's Democratic Group.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Tom) Heard of Osage; six grandchildren, Kelly Heard, Kristi (Steve) Aschenbrenner, TC (Val) Heard all of Osage, Tammi (Adam) Avila of Parker, Colorado, Todd (Michelle) Rodemeyer of Holtz Summit, Missouri, and Dawna Boydston of Missouri; sixteen greatgrandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Caleb and Nathan Bushbaum of Osage, Dylan Claudia, and Ally Aschenbrenner of Osage, Emma, Zach, and Noland Heard of Osage, Gabe and Jacob Avila of Colorado, Jacob and Justin Rodemeyer of Missouri, and Alexa and Brian Boydston of Missouri; a son Michael Rodemeyer of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nora and Arthur Holland; husband, Allen Harvey Rodemeyer; one great grandson Dylan Boydston; and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 15, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Craig Palmer officiating. Burial will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Clear Creek Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Family will be present from 12 noon until service time at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019, to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Stephens Memorial Animal Shelter in Oskaloosa.
